Sensors and monitoring in schools and workplaces

Full Name

MAR. 23, 2023

Existing platforms like SpotterEDU track students' location and attendance through their mobile phones and are already in use at some universities.

Some universities have implemented the tracking of student locations via mobile phone, mainly for the purpose of attendance and potentially for identifying at-risk individuals on a campus. While this technology may not yet be used for the purpose of responsive scheduling, the groundwork has been laid with the use of these technologies, such as SpotterEDU (https://spotteredu.com/stories).

Facility sensors are another technology that are in use in some facilities, incorporating AI and Machine Learning to provide usage and optimization data on various spaces in a facility. These technologies will continue to be developed and might be harnessed in the future for school space scheduling and optimization.
